This painting is a map of time, acknowledging the past, its depth of joys and sorrows, cultivating presence, and calling in and discerning between possible futures. A piece in which I beckon beauty to bless the time ahead, laid on foundation of the living present and acceptance of the past. This piece holds prayers.
Fluid mediums hold the memory of the water which animated them, suspending the moment in this living visual record. I use flower essences and rosewater in devotion to the water itself, as well as to the holy moment of creation.
